Benefits and Results

I see a difference between the "benefits" of chanting and the "results". When I chant my four rounds in the morning in front of Gopal I am almost always invigorated by it. When I chant before class I almost always come away with a clear mind. When I am angry and I chant Krishna's names I almost always calm down. I see all these as the "benefits" of chanting and they seem to come nine times out of ten.

With that said, there is only one "result" that I look for in japa. That is; a loving exchange between Bhagavan and myself. This "result " does not come as often as I would like and I figure it is because I still chant offensively. It does, however, come often enough!

If there is one thing I have learned from Srila Prabhupada it's that the sun is always shinning, but there might be a cloud between me and it.
