TRANSLATION

O scion of Bharata, you should understand that I am also the knower in all bodies, and to understand this body and its knower is called knowledge. That is My opinion.

JOURNAL:

As we start this new chapter Srila Prabhupada gives us the basic knowledge we need to understand the discussion by beginning his purport with these words: While discussing the subject of the body and the knower of the body, the soul and the Supersoul, we shall find three different topics of study: the Lord, the living entity, and matter. In every field of activities, in every body, there are two souls: the individual soul and the Supersoul.

It is said that the two souls within our body are like two birds sitting on the branch of a tree. One of the birds (the individual) is eating and the other bird (Krishna) is watching. This analogy will be further explained later on in the chapter.
