tumi ye kariyacha ei ucca sankirtana
sthavara-jangamera sei hayata' sravana

TRANSLATION

You have loudly chanted the Hare Krsna mantra, and everyone, moving or not moving, has benefited by hearing it.

JOURNAL:

I just finished sankirtan with about a dozen devotees. It was so good! Chanting the Holy Names in public with a group energizes me in such a way that all I want is to do more. If this is something that you have never tried I urge you to seek out of group of devotees and go for it. You will find joy and your japa will be much better also.

Introduction

The Bhagavad Gita is a sacred Hindu scripture, considered among the most important texts in the history of literature and philosophy. The Bhagavad Gita comprises roughly 700 verses, and is a part of the Mahabharata.

The content of the Gita is the conversation between Krishna and Arjuna taking place on the battlefield before the start of the Kurukshetra war. Responding to Arjuna's moral dilemma about fighting his own cousins, Krishna explains to Arjuna his duties as a warrior and elaborates on different Yogic and Vedantic philosophies, with examples and analogies. This has led to the Gita often being described as a concise guide to Hindu theology and also as a practical, self-contained guide to life. (Wikipedia)

The holy name of the Lord and the Lord are nondifferent; therefore when a devotee chants Hare Krsna, Krsna and His internal potency are dancing on the tongue of the devotee. (Srila Prabhupada - Bhagavad Gita As It Is 12.8p)
O my Lord, Your holy name alone can render all benediction to living beings, and thus You have hundreds and millions of names, like Krishna and Govinda. In these transcendental names You have invested all Your transcendental energies. There are not even hard and fast rules for chanting these names.
