SLOKA OF THE DAY

Bhagavad Gita As It Is -
Chapter 2 Text 28

avyaktadini bhutani
vyakta-madhyani bharata
avyakta-nidhanany eva
tatra ka paridevana

avyakta-adini--in the beginning unmanifested; bhutani--all that are created; vyakta--manifested; madhyani--in the middle; bharata--O descendant of Bharata; avyakta--nonmanifested; nidhanani--when vanquished; eva--it is all like that; tatra--therefore; ka--what; paridevana--lamentation.

TRANSLATION

All created beings are unmanifest in their beginning, manifest in their interimstate, and unmanifest again when annihilated. So what need is there for lamentation?

JOURNAL:

My new quarter-mala bracelet came yesterday. This one is made of rosewood with matching counter beads. I chose rosewood because I live in "The City of Roses". That, and I love the dark, red color of the wood.
