Chapter 3 Text 15

karma brahmodbhavam viddhi
brahmaksara-samudbhavam
tasmat sarva-gatam brahma
nityam yajne pratisthitam

karma--work; brahma--from the Vedas; udbhavam--produced; viddhi--you should know; brahma--the Vedas; aksara--from the Supreme Brahman (Personality of Godhead); samudbhavam--directly manifested; tasmat--therefore; sarva-gatam--all-pervading; brahma--transcendence; nityam--eternally; yajne--in sacrifice; pratisthitam--situated.

TRANSLATION

Regulated activities are prescribed in the Vedas, and the Vedas are directly manifested from the Supreme Personalityof Godhead. Consequently the all-pervading Transcendence is eternally situated in acts of sacrifice.

JOURNAL:

The pictures that I use for the Sloka of the Day entries are from the second and third editions of Bhagavad Gita As It Is. I simply rotate these pictures and don't worry about whether they match up with the slokas. So when they do match up it gives me a small thrill. But today, when Srila Prabhupada's picture came up in the rotation on his Appearance Day, I have to think Krishna had something to do with it!

All glories to His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktividanta Swami Prabhupada!
