SLOKA OF THE DAY:

Bhagavad Gita As It Is -
Chapter 8 Text 15
mam upetya punar janma
duhkhalayam asasvatam
napnuvanti mahatmanah
samsiddhim paramam gatah

mam--Me; upetya--achieving; punah--again; janma--birth; duhkha-alayam--place of miseries; asasvatam--temporary; na--never; apnuvanti--attain; maha-atmanah--the great souls; samsiddhim--perfection; paramam--ultimate; gatah--having achieved.

TRASLATION

After attaining Me, the great souls, who are yogis in devotion, never return to this temporary world, which is full of miseries, because they have attained the highest perfection.

JOURNAL:

On Radhastami one of my step-daughters came over and hung out with my wife and I. She talked about her and a friend going to see the world's biggest Buddha and that she had set up an alter much like mine although with a Buddhist theme. I was so happy to hear that she had begun meditating. So there we were, a Catholic, a Buddhist and a Vishnava watching Sri Radha swinging in New Devaraka and laughing together. When she left I gave her a copy of "The Higher Taste" and she was thrilled to receive it.

Life can be so good when we stop criticizing each other and instead appreciate the fact that Krishna as the Atman in every one's heart is leading them. As my father used to say, "God is bigger than any one religion".
